Three years ago, when we were expecting our first child, I realized I was overweight and unhealthy and decided to change, starting with the gym and running; within months I completed a half marathon in 1:45 shortly after my daughter’s birth, which sparked a drive for bigger goals, leading me to sign up for a full marathon and an Ironman 70.3 and buy my first €250 aluminum bike to train with my best friend. Although I initially preferred running and felt out of place in cycling gear, I gradually fell in love with cycling, its culture, and its fashion, eventually upgrading to a carbon bike and going on cycling trips with friends. After three years, I chose to combine my passion for cycling and style into a business, founding Velovoila to offer high-end cycling apparel with sleek design, strong performance, and fair pricing.
